Parmesan Italian Dressing Baked Chicken is a weeknight dinner where sharp Parmesan forms a crisp golden crust and Italian dressing keeps every bite juicy and flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a large bowl. Pour in the Italian dressing and olive oil.
  3. Add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, then coat the chicken thoroughly.
  4. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the chicken, pressing it gently onto the surface so it forms an even coating.
  5. Arrange the coated chicken breasts on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each piece.
  6. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the Parmesan coating is golden and crisp.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest briefly.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley, slice, and serve while warm.

Notes

  • Bring chicken to room temperature for 15 minutes before baking for even cooking.
  • Press Parmesan firmly onto each breast so the coating adheres and forms a crisp crust.
  • Line the baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and simplify cleanup.
  • Let the chicken rest after baking so juices redistribute.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking sheet or the chicken will steam instead of roast.
  • Avoid pre-shredded Parmesan from a canister, which may contain anti-caking agents that hinder browning.
  • Marinate the chicken in dressing, oil, garlic, and seasoning up to 8 hours ahead; add Parmesan just before baking.
