Lentil Burgers
A hearty, plant-based burger made with brown lentils, smoked paprika, and cumin for a savory, smoky flavor and perfect firm texture.

- 2 cups Cooked Brown Lentils
- 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
- 0.5 cup Yellow Onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
Instructions
- Pulse 1 cup of lentils with onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, and salt in a food processor until a paste forms.
- In a bowl, stir the paste with the remaining 1 cup of whole lentils and breadcrumbs.
- Form into 4 firm patties about 1 inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sear patties for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve on toasted buns with desired toppings.
Notes
- Ensure lentils are well-drained to prevent a mushy texture.
- Resting the patties in the fridge for 30 minutes helps them stay together during cooking.
- Do not use red lentils as they are too soft for burger patties.
