Caramel Apple Puff Pastry Rings transform simple ingredients into an elegant dessert that tastes like autumn on a plate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 2-3 medium apples
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup vegan caramel sauce
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the apples into rounds and use a circular cutter or piping tip to remove the core from the center of each slice.
  3. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a shallow bowl. Press each apple slice into the mixture until well-coated.
  4. Cut the puff pastry into thin strips and wrap them around each cinnamon-coated apple ring.
  5. Place the pastry-wrapped rings on the baking sheet. You can use extra pastry scraps to cut out leaf shapes to decorate the top.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve warm, drizzled generously with vegan caramel sauce and dusted with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Keep pastry cold until the moment you are ready to wrap the apples.
  • Pat apple slices dry before coating to prevent soggy bottoms.
  • Space rings generously on the baking sheet to allow hot air to circulate.
  • Check at the fifteen-minute mark and tent with foil if sugar is burning.
  • Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith.
