A hearty and comforting Three-Cheese Kielbasa Bake layered with penne pasta, smoky kielbasa, sautéed vegetables, and a rich trio of cheeses baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 14 ounces kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 medium zucchini, diced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a skillet, sauté the kielbasa slices in olive oil over medium heat until browned. Add onions and zucchini, cooking until softened. Stir in garlic and Italian seasoning, then add the diced tomatoes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, sautéed sausage mixture, and half of each cheese. Mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let the dish rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated cheese for best melting and flavor.
  • Try adding spinach or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
  • Let the casserole rest to help it hold its shape when serving.
