Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Extra lime wedges

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and lime juice.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, honey, chili powder, and salt until smooth. Chill until ready to serve.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  4. Warm tortillas, then layer with cabbage, shrimp, diced tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro.
  5. Drizzle with creamy sauce and serve with extra lime wedges.

Notes

  • Pat shrimp dry before seasoning for a better sear.
  • Warm tortillas for better flavor and pliability.
  • Customize with your favorite toppings or serve as a taco bowl.
