Creamy, decadent Samoa Cheesecake inspired by the iconic Girl Scout cookie—layered with caramel, toasted coconut, and rich chocolate for the ultimate dessert indulgence.

Ingredients

  • Graham Cracker Crumbs: 2 cups – Forms the classic buttery base for the crust.
  • Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup (melted) – Binds the crumbs and adds richness.
  • Cream Cheese: 4 (8 oz) blocks – The star of the show, bringing that silky, tangy body.
  • Granulated Sugar: 1 cup – Adds sweetness and structure to the cheesecake layer.
  • Brown Sugar: 1/2 cup – Gives a warm, caramel-like note.
  • Vanilla Extract: 2 teaspoons – Enhances all the sweet and toasty flavors.
  • Large Eggs: 4 – Helps set the structure while keeping it creamy.
  • Sour Cream: 1 cup – Adds tang and smoothness.
  • Toasted Shredded Coconut: 2 cups – Brings nutty flavor and chewy texture.
  • Caramel Sauce: 1 cup – Swirled inside and drizzled on top for that signature Samoa flavor.
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips: 1/2 cup – Melted for a glossy, rich topping.
  • Sea Salt: A pinch – Balances the sweetness and enhances flavor complexity.

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Wrap the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan in foil and prepare a hot water bath.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until fully combined. Press into the bottom of the pan and bake for 10 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Grease the sides of the springform pan and place it in a larger roasting pan to prepare for the water bath.
  4. Assemble the Dish: In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sugars, vanilla, and mix. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in sour cream. Pour half the batter over crust, drizzle caramel and sprinkle coconut, then add remaining batter.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Pour hot water into roasting pan and bake cheesecake for 60–70 minutes, until edges are set and center is slightly jiggly. Turn off oven, crack door, and let cool inside for 1 hour.
  6. Finishing Touches: Refrigerate overnight. Before serving, top with toasted coconut, drizzle with warm caramel and melted chocolate.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Slice cleanly with a warm knife and serve chilled for the perfect texture.

Notes

  • Always use room temperature cream cheese and eggs for a smooth batter.
  • Toast your coconut for enhanced flavor and color.
  • Use a water bath to prevent cracking and ensure even baking.
  • Chill the cheesecake overnight for best texture and flavor.
