  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in cheddar cheese. Add milk and mix just until combined.
  5. Drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet.
  6. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Combine melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley, then brush over hot biscuits.
  8. Serve warm.
