Sweet, savory, and packed with umami — this miso butter corn is your new favorite quick side dish. Charred golden corn kernels tossed in miso butter and topped with fresh green onions for the perfect bite every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon white miso paste
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix miso paste, butter, and soy sauce until smooth.
  3. Add corn to the skillet and let cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes to develop a slight char.
  4. Stir and cook another 2–3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Add miso butter mixture and stir to coat all the corn evenly.
  6. Add garlic if using and cook for 1 more minute.
  7. Turn off heat and stir in green onions, black pepper, and sesame oil.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Don’t stir too soon — let the corn brown for flavor.
  • White or yellow miso both work great.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy version.
