Fresh, crunchy lettuce wraps filled with savory tofu and crisp vegetables, tossed in a flavorful Asian-inspired sauce. Light, satisfying, and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 head butter lettuce leaves
  • 1 block (14 oz) ground tofu
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped
  • 1 small carrot, julienned
  • 3 radishes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • Handful fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in mushrooms and crumbled tofu, cook until golden and lightly crisp.
  4. Add soy sauce and hoisin sauce, stir well to coat evenly.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for a few more minutes to thicken slightly.
  6. Stir in green onions, remove from heat and set aside.
  7. Wash and dry lettuce leaves, arrange on a serving platter.
  8. Spoon warm filling into each leaf, top with carrots, radishes, and cilantro.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy fresh.

Notes

  • Use butter or Bibb lettuce for best wrapping results.
  • Dry lettuce well to prevent sogginess.
  • Prepare filling ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
  • Add chili flakes or sriracha for a spicy kick.
