Italian Chocolate Salami is a no-bake dessert made with rich dark chocolate, crunchy biscuits, and a hint of espresso. It’s sliceable, nostalgic, and perfect for holidays or as an easy, make-ahead sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • Dark Chocolate: 200g (about 7 oz)
  • Unsalted Butter: 100g (7 tablespoons)
  • Granulated Sugar: 100g (½ cup)
  • Cocoa Powder: 2 tablespoons
  • Egg Yolk: 1 large
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Instant Espresso Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Dry Tea Biscuits: 200g (about 7 oz), crushed
  • Chopped Nuts: ⅓ cup (optional)
  • Powdered Sugar: For dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: No oven needed — clear space in your fridge or freezer.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Melt chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, cocoa powder, espresso, vanilla, and egg yolk.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Add crushed biscuits and nuts to the mixture. Stir until well combined.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Spoon mixture onto parchment paper and shape into a tight log using the paper to roll.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or freeze 1–2 hours until firm.
  6. Finishing Touches: Unwrap and roll in powdered sugar for a “salami” look.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Slice and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes
