Flaky, tender homemade biscuits packed with sharp cheddar cheese and finished with a generous brush of sweet honey butter glaze.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 0.5 cups Cold Unsalted Butter, cubed
  • 1.5 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 cup Cold Buttermilk
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Melted Butter
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic Powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold cubed butter using a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Fold in the grated cheddar cheese.
  5. Add cold buttermilk and stir gently with a fork just until a shaggy dough forms.
  6. Drop large spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet or cut into rounds.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
  8. Whisk together melted butter and honey, and brush over the biscuits immediately after removing them from the oven.
  9. Serve warm.
