A smoky, citrusy fall cocktail blending mezcal, apple cider, and maple syrup with warm cinnamon and fresh citrus — the perfect seasonal twist on a margarita.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces mezcal
  • 1 ounce apple cider
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 ounce maple syrup
  • Dash of ground cinnamon or cinnamon stick for garnish
  • Ice
  • Cinnamon sugar and salt (for rim)
  • Apple slice or orange peel (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill your serving glass in the freezer.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add mezcal, apple cider, lime juice, orange juice, and maple syrup.
  3. On a small plate, combine cinnamon sugar and salt. Rub glass rim with lime, then dip into the mix to coat.
  4. Shake cocktail vigorously for about 20 seconds.
  5. Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with an apple slice, orange peel, or cinnamon stick.
