A classic and moist vanilla pound cake with a simple sweet glaze, perfect for breakfast, tea time, or dessert

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour: 2 1/2 cups
  • Sugar: 2 cups
  • Butter: 1 cup, softened
  • Eggs: 4 large
  • Baking Powder: 2 teaspoons
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vanilla Extract: 2 teaspoons
  • Milk: 1/2 cup
  • Powdered Sugar: 1 cup
  • Water or Milk: 2-3 tablespoons (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; fold into wet ingredients alternately with milk
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth top
  5. Bake 60-70 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
  6. Cool completely on a wire rack, then mix powdered sugar with water or milk to make glaze and drizzle over the top
  7. Slice and serve
