Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 thick slices brioche bread
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for frying)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced (for topping)
  • Fresh blueberries (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  3. Melt a bit of butter on the hot skillet, spreading evenly.
  4. Dip each slice of brioche into the custard mixture for 10–15 seconds per side. Let excess drip off.
  5. Place soaked slices on the skillet and cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Transfer to a plate and top with berries and maple syrup.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for better soaking without falling apart.
  • Don’t oversoak the bread or it may become soggy.
  • Wipe skillet between batches to avoid burning bits.
