Light and comforting dumpling soup made with tender chicken dumplings, fresh spinach, carrots, and green onions in a savory ginger garlic broth, perfect for a quick cozy meal.

Ingredients

  • 400 grams frozen chicken dumplings
  • 1 liter chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pour chicken broth into a large pot and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and grated ginger and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add frozen dumplings and cook according to package directions until tender.
  4. Stir in julienned carrots and simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Add fresh spinach and cook until wilted.
  6. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  7. Remove from heat and taste, adjusting seasoning if needed.
  8. Ladle soup into bowls.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

  • Do not boil vigorously to prevent dumplings from breaking.
  • Add chili oil if you like extra heat.
  • Use vegetable broth for a lighter version.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
