Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened), plus 1/2 cup for caramel
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup or corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups pink candy melts or white chocolate with food coloring
  • 23 tablespoons heart sprinkles or Valentine’s decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix flour, brown sugar, salt, and softened butter to form a dough. Press evenly into the pan and bake for 20 minutes. Let cool.
  3. In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter, condensed milk, and syrup over medium heat. Stir until golden and thickened (about 10–12 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  4. Pour caramel over the cooled base and spread evenly. Let set for 30 minutes.
  5. Melt candy melts or white chocolate and stir until smooth. Pour over caramel layer and spread evenly.
  6. Top with heart sprinkles and decorations while still soft. Chill for at least 1 hour.
  7. Lift from the pan using parchment, slice into bars, and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper for easy removal and clean edges.
  • Chill before slicing to prevent cracks and get sharp layers.
  • Add a pinch of flaky sea salt on top for a sweet-salty twist.
