Ingredients

Scale
  • 600 g beef flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  2. Add olive oil and swirl to coat the pan.
  3. Add the sliced beef in a single layer and sear quickly.
  4. Add onion and garlic, stirring until fragrant and slightly softened.
  5. Sprinkle in ground cumin, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes.
  6. Stir fry for 3 to 4 minutes until beef is cooked through and coated evenly.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro.

Notes

  • Slice beef very thinly for the most tender result.
  • Keep heat high to avoid steaming the meat.
  • Add chili flakes gradually to control spice.
