Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless chicken breasts or thighs
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • ½ cup Caesar dressing
  • 1 cup croutons
  • ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • Lemon wedges (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in one bowl. Place beaten egg in another.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg, then coat again in flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
  5. Chop romaine and toss lightly with Caesar dressing. Add croutons and toss again.
  6. Slice chicken and place on top of salad. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and serve with lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh romaine for the best crunch and flavor.
  • Double-coat chicken for extra crispiness.
  • Assemble salad just before serving to keep everything crisp.
