Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts or thighs, cut into strips
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • ½ cup Caesar dressing
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 crusty sandwich rolls

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken strips in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Beat the egg in another bowl.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg, then coat again in flour.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry chicken strips for 4–5 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Toast sandwich rolls lightly. In a bowl, toss romaine with Caesar dressing and Parmesan.
  6. Assemble sandwiches: spread a bit of dressing on the rolls, layer with crispy chicken and dressed romaine.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Double-dip the chicken for extra crunch.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain proper oil temperature.
