A quick and budget-friendly skillet dish where tender cabbage caramelizes to golden perfection and pairs with rich eggs for a crispy, flavorful, and comforting meal.

  • 1/2 medium green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  2. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add cabbage, salt, pepper, and paprika. Spread evenly and let cook undisturbed for 4–5 minutes to crisp.
  4. Stir occasionally until softened and caramelized, about 8–10 minutes total.
  5. Make four small wells in the cabbage and crack one egg into each.
  6. Cover with a lid and cook 4–6 minutes until eggs are set to your liking.
  7. Sprinkle with parsley, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use a wide skillet to avoid overcrowding and achieve better caramelization.
  • Don’t skip the lid when cooking eggs, it ensures even cooking.
  • Top with cheese, chili flakes, or lemon juice for extra flavor.
