Creamy Tomato Rigatoni is a comforting pasta dish featuring tender rigatoni coated in a rich, velvety tomato sauce, finished with fresh basil and Parmesan. It’s the perfect balance of savory, creamy, and tangy flavors.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook rigatoni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Pour in crushed tomatoes and oregano. Simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add cooked rigatoni to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and extra Parmesan if desired.
