  • 23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans and one 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Prepare the lemon cake mix according to package instructions. Divide batter evenly between the two cake pans and bake as directed. Cool completely.
  3. For the cheesecake layer: In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla, sour cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest until fully combined.
  4. Pour cheesecake batter into the springform pan and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the center is set. Let cool completely, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. For the frosting: Beat softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar gradually, then mix in vanilla extract and milk until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Assemble the cake: Place one lemon cake layer on a serving plate, top with the cheesecake layer, then add the second lemon cake layer on top. Frost the entire cake with cream cheese frosting.
