Tender golden-seared chicken smothered in a rich, garlicky cream sauce with fresh spinach, this Creamy Chicken Spinach Skillet is a one-pan wonder perfect for busy weeknights or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts: 4 pieces (about 1 ½ pounds) – lean protein and hearty base
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons – for searing the chicken
  • Unsalted Butter: 2 tablespoons – adds richness to the sauce
  • Garlic Cloves (minced): 3 cloves – aromatic foundation
  • Chicken Broth: 1 cup – deglazes the pan and adds savory depth
  • Heavy Cream: 1 cup – creates that luscious creamy sauce
  • Parmesan Cheese (grated): ½ cup – melts in for nutty, salty flavor
  • Fresh Spinach: 4 cups – adds freshness and balance
  • Italian Seasoning: 1 teaspoon – for herby flavor
  • Salt and Black Pepper: To taste – enhances all the flavors

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Season chicken with salt, pepper, and half the Italian seasoning. Add to skillet and sear 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, and remaining seasoning. Simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
  6. Finishing Touches: Stir in spinach until just wilted, about 1–2 minutes.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Plate chicken, ladle sauce generously, and serve hot with pasta, rice, or bread.

Notes

  • Pat chicken dry before searing for golden crust.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results.
  • Add spinach at the end to preserve its color and texture.
  • Reheat gently with a splash of broth to restore sauce.
