Classic chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges, gooey centers, and rich chocolate in every bite. A nostalgic treat that’s easy to make and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

  • Unsalted Butter: 1 cup (softened)
  • Brown Sugar: 1 cup (packed)
  • Granulated Sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Vanilla Extract: 2 teaspoons
  • All-Purpose Flour: 2 1/4 cups
  • Baking Soda: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips: 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine dry into wet until just mixed. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Scoop dough using a cookie scoop onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Press a few extra chocolate chips on top of each dough mound for visual appeal if desired.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are still soft.
  6. Finishing Touches: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm with a glass of milk or store for later enjoyment.

Notes

  • Use a mix of chocolate chips and chunks for varied texture.
  • Chill dough to prevent spreading and deepen flavor.
  • Store cookies with a slice of bread to keep them soft.
