A comforting classic, Chicken Gloria features tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce and topped with melted mozzarella. Perfect for a cozy dinner or a crowd-pleasing family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, halved lengthwise
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  3. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter and sear the chicken on both sides until golden, about 3–4 minutes per side. Transfer to the baking dish.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms until browned, about 5 minutes. Layer them over the chicken.
  6. Pour the creamy sauce over the chicken and mushrooms, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese is golden.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

  • Use full-fat sour cream to prevent curdling.
  • Tent with foil during baking if the cheese browns too fast.
  • Let the dish rest for a few minutes after baking for the sauce to thicken.
