A quick and flavorful Chicken & Broccoli stir-fry made with tender chicken, fresh broccoli, and a savory soy-garlic sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights and better than takeout!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup water or chicken broth
  • Sesame seeds, optional garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat your wok or skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. In a bowl, toss chicken with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, and a drizzle of sesame oil. Let it marinate while preparing the rest.
  3. Add vegetable oil to the hot pan, stir-fry chicken for 5-6 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add broccoli and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until bright green.
  5. Return chicken to the pan. In a bowl, whisk remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, water or broth, brown sugar, ground ginger, and cornstarch.
  6. Pour sauce into pan and stir until chicken and broccoli are coated and sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
  7. Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Use pre-chopped broccoli to save time.
  • Swap oyster sauce with hoisin or soy sauce if needed.
  • Great for leftovers and meal prep.
