  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Press sugar cookie dough onto a greased 12-inch pizza pan in an even layer.
  3. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until lightly golden. Let it cool completely.
  4. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled cookie crust.
  6. In a small pan, warm the cherry pie filling with cornstarch until slightly thickened.
  7. Let cherry topping cool slightly, then spoon over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Top with fresh cherries and drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  9. Chill in fridge for 1 hour before slicing.

Notes

  • Let the cookie crust cool completely before adding the filling to avoid melting.
  • For extra flavor, add a dash of almond extract to the cream cheese layer.
  • You can swap cherry pie filling with blueberry or strawberry for a fun twist.
