Baked apple fritters are soft, golden, and packed with juicy apple chunks, kissed with cinnamon and finished with a sweet vanilla glaze. All the comfort of a fall fair treat without frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups chopped apples
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Fold in chopped apples.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheet using a cookie scoop or spoon.
  6. Shape gently if desired and bake for 14–16 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool slightly. Mix powdered sugar with a little milk or vanilla for glaze and drizzle over fritters.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best texture.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep fritters fluffy.
  • Let glaze set slightly before serving for a perfect finish.
