A comforting baked dessert featuring a mixture of tart and sweet apples topped with a crunchy, buttery cinnamon oat crumble.

  • 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3 Honeycrisp apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with 1/4 cup of the brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine the oats, flour, and remaining brown sugar.
  5. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
